Coaches
Our Program Coaches will lead the development of the athletes through the academy and team based experience. Individually, the Program Coaches have extensive experience as players and coaches of youth and adult volleyball. As a team, our Program Coaches have been working together for years in youth volleyball before establishing the NYC Volleyball Academy.
NYC VBA will provide high-level coaching available in an organized and consistent manner. We believe the developmental success of our athletes starts and ends with a consistent approach to coaching, led by coaches with only the highest expectations.
Having our Program Coaches oversee each team and every element of the club enables NYC VBA to offer a systemized and consistent approach to training and volleyball education.
Coach Danial Levent
Coach Danial has been involved at all levels of volleyball as both a player and a coach. He was Player of the Year and a 3-time CUNYAC Tournament MVP for Baruch College in New York and also played professionally for SunVolley in Oulu, Finland – winning the CEV Cup Finnish Championship.He later went on to coach the Baruch College Men’s team to the NCAA Elite 8 as well as a Final 4 appearance, in addition to winning the CUYNYAC Championships two times.
Recently, his focus is on youth volleyball as the Girls JV/Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Director at St. John’s Prep in Queens. He has also coached the USA High Performance Volleyball Boys A1 and A2 Future Select teams in Colorado Springs, CO and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Coach Danial is a dual US and Finnish Citizen and an avid gardener who grows his own vegetables at home!
